A Lion was sleeping in the forest. A little Mouse ran across his nose and woke him up.
The Lion was angry and caught the Mouse. The Mouse was very scared and begged the Lion to let him go. “Please, let me go,” said the Mouse. “Maybe one day I can help you.”
The Lion laughed. “You? Help me? You are so small! But okay, I will let you go.” The Lion let the Mouse go.
Later, the Lion was walking in the forest when he got caught in a hunter’s net. He could not get out. He roared loudly.
The Mouse heard the Lion roar. He remembered the Lion who had let him go. The Mouse ran to the net.
The Mouse started to gnaw at the ropes of the net with his little teeth. He gnawed and gnawed and gnawed. Finally, the Mouse gnawed through all the ropes. The Lion was free!
The Lion thanked the Mouse. “You were right,” said the Lion. “Even a small mouse can help a big lion.”
